Raising a Corrective Action Request direct from CAPA Module
CAR from a Complaint
For creating a Corrective Action from a Customer Complaint, refer to the help slides under 'Customer Complaints' and 'Creating a Customer Complaint response'.
CAR Request direct from the CAPA module
From any view, click the 'NEW' button to create
Selecting CAR Request
Select the Organization you wish to raise this CAR Request for and select Corrective action class, type and request layout. Hit Chevron when ready to proceed
Title the CAR
Give the CAR an informative title unique to this problem request
Effectiveness Review
Set the CAR for an effectiveness review by checking the box. The default is 90 days from approval and closure but you can change this if required. The system will send messages to the owner when this period is reached
Effectiveness Review Notification
An email is sent when the period entered for review is reached. The CAR will remain in you My Tasks and My Tracking screen and will stay at status 'Approved' until effectiveness is completed and then will be 'Approved - Closed' and will be removed automatically from My Tasks and Tracking.
Selecting an Expediter
Select an allowance(s) which in turn will show all possible expediters with that allowance and then choose who you will send this CAR Request to.
Priority Schedule and Problem Description
Selecting H, M or L will automatically select a date for completion. This date is editable. Select a source and basic problem statement from the drop down lists
Problem Description and Problem Profile Statements
Enter details that are necessary for the expediter to proceed with investigation
Corrective Action Type
Select which type of corrective action you want. If you wish to use an 8D route then select 8D and use the forms provided. These forms can be used in any case even if you choose Corrective Action to help describe the problem thoroughly. Once these forms are completed you have to save them locally and reattach them using the 'Attach File' button
Associated Items and Hosted Data
You can use the 'Manage Hosted Data' buttons to add a product, customer or piece of equipment from the Calibration database. If you want to associate another document type from another module such as a work instruction, select 'Manage Associated Items'.
Picking the Associated Item
Use the drop downs to select which module and doc type you want and hit 'Add Selected Items' when done. Chevron when complete. If you change your mind, hit the Return button to go back to the request form. If you hit 'Close' you will lose all that you have entered so far.
Submitting the Request
When ready to submit to the expediter, hit the 'Submit for Acceptance' button.
