1. Approved Equipment Profile
To initiate an MSA plan, open the relevant approved equipment profile for the subject of the study. The purpose of the plan is set the dates when the study must start and end and also allow you to create a plan for the next study. Results can then be created for each plan date
2. Special Actions
With the Equipment profile open, go to Special Actions on the left and select 'Measurement Systems Analysis'.
3. Creating Special Action
Click on 'Create Special Action'.
4. Doc Type & Layout
The doc type is MSA Plan and the layout is MSA and should already show so just click >>> to proceed
5. MSA Plan Identity
You can change the title of the plan. The controlling document is the equipment you created this plan from.
6. Responsibility
Click Quality Assurance to make it blue. When you first create this plan the Lead Assessor and Manager will show the author/manager of the equipment profile but you can change that here using the >>> button and selecting the owner of the MSA plan. Select a new name and click 'Add Selected' to populate the name in the plan.
7. Categorization
Click on the blue underlined category called 'Equipment Location to select an appropriate area where the equipment belongs. If you cannot find the choice you need, contact a Cpro administrator. Click on 'Special Characteristic(s) and select where this MSA study is subject of a customer designated special characteristic or not.
8. Significance and Schedule
Choose High, Medium or Low as a guide as to when this plan needs to be completed. You can manually choose and assessment completion due date which will populate a start date automatically based on the significance value you chose.
9. Re-assessment settings
This section defines the criteria for re-assessment of the gauge. The example above shows that the study should be repeated in 36 months time (1) after completion of the current study being performed. You can choose to create a re-assessment prior to closure (2) by checking the appropriate box and switch to manual creation after a set number of re-assessments. (3)
10. Assessment Description
You can give as much detail as you want of the study plan and the products involved as well as the specific parameters of the study.
11. Associated Items
By clicking the 'Manage Associated Items' button you can create a link to other studies, documents etc.
12. Hosted Mater Data
This section allows you to create links to other similar equipment profiles if for example this study is representative of a family of equipment types. You can create by clicking 'Manage Hosted Data'
13. Notification List
Click on the >>> button to find and add employees who will be notification on completion of this plan.
14. Additional Readers - Restrict access
Check the box and choose only those individuals who will be able to read the content of this study should you wish it to be confidential.
15. Save or Submit
You can choose to 'Save' which will leave the document on-screen but will save what you have done so far to avoid timing-out and losing data. Save and Close is self-explanatory and 'Submit for Acceptance' will send to the chosen Lead Assessor to process the plan.
16. In-Process state & other options
The recipient of the plan can use the button to 'Request Re-assignment'. Given a certain level of access, a user may also be able to 'Change Owners and Readers' which allows changing of the Lead assessor, Manager and/or notification list recipients.
17. The Plan -after creation of the results
Once you have created the Findings Form (results), detailed in another set of slides, you would be able tyo re-visit the Plan and see in the Assessment Findings Forms section the study type(s) created and what stage they are at.
18. Study Summary & Note Creation
Again, once the findings form(s) have been created, the result of the study can be seen in the MSA Study summary. At any time during the life of the plan, In-Process or completed, anyone can create a Note by clicking the Create Note button within the plan and saving.
19. Options after completion
After a plan has been completed you have the option to 'Revert to in process' and also to manually create the next assessment plan.
